Publications (Strategic Development Plans, Program evaluation report)
The Strategic Development Plan of Commune of Otllak, Berat, Albania is prepared by Environment and Rural Development Institute (ERDI) in cooperation with representatives from the community’s administration office in December 2006. The team selected topics that have a greater impact on the economic and social situation of this commune. Special attention is given to income increase, improvement of infrastructure, education opportunities increase, and a better healthcare system. For every selected issue, the local office of the commune created a database with data collected from village leaders, school’s principals, health care staff, regional agro food and public health department. All participants discussed all detailed analysis made for every issue on round tables and the debates helped to better understand the current situation and determine the concrete measures for the sustainable development of the Otllak Commune.
Special attention is given to the road infrastructure of the commune and real opportunities it provides to connect private farms with the market. The analysis for increasing education opportunities is focused on the main indicators of the primary education dedicating a special importance to the improvement of educational infrastructure. A similar analysis is provided for the health care system focusing on the status of health centers and walk-in clinics.
For each selected topic there are identified the priority projects and objectives for sustainable development of the commune.
